It can be made with chicken breasts as well as chicken thighs.<\/p><p id=\"viewer-rr2ie7683\">Ingredients<\/p><p id=\"viewer-rcql87708\"><strong><em>For Marinating:<\/em><\/strong><\/p><p id=\"viewer-vnkyb7807\">Chicken tastes best when it is marinated overnight.<\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>750g boneless and skinless chicken thighs cut into bite-sized pieces<\/li>\n\n<li>1 cup plain yogurt<\/li>\n\n<li>2 tablespoons garlic ginger paste<\/li>\n\n<li>2 teaspoons garam masala<\/li>\n\n<li>1 teaspoon turmeric<\/li>\n\n<li>1 teaspoon ground cumin<\/li>\n\n<li>1 teaspoon red chili powder<\/li>\n\n<li>1 teaspoon of salt<\/li>\n\n<li>1 teaspoon coriander powder<\/li><\/ul><p id=\"viewer-te7ed8186\"><strong><em>For masala paste<\/em><\/strong><\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>2 medium sized onion<\/li>\n\n<li>4 medium sized tomato<\/li>\n\n<li>2 tablespoon vegetable oil<\/li>\n\n<li>2 tablespoon butter<\/li>\n\n<li>1 green chilli<\/li>\n\n<li>1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste<\/li>\n\n<li>1\/2 to 1 teaspoon red chili powder (or as per heat required)<\/li>\n\n<li>2 teaspoon garam masala powder<\/li>\n\n<li>1 tablespoon coriander powder<\/li>\n\n<li>1 to 1 1\/2 teaspoon cumin powder<\/li>\n\n<li>1 1\/4 cups of heavy cream<\/li>\n\n<li>1\/4 cup water<\/li>\n\n<li>1\/4 cup coriander for garnishing<\/li>\n\n<li>1 tablespoon kasuri methi<\/li>\n\n<li>1 teaspoon sugar<\/li>\n\n<li>1 teaspoon salt<\/li><\/ul><p id=\"viewer-wvexy7717\"><strong>Method<\/strong><\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Mix all the items for marinating in a bowl, cover it and rest it overnight in the refrigerator.<\/li>\n\n<li>Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry marinated chicken pieces until brown on each side. Keep aside the fried chicken.<\/li>\n\n<li>Melt the butter in the same pan. Fry the onions until soft and light brown. You can add some salt to get the brown colour without burning.<\/li>\n\n<li>Add tomatoes and cook until the mixture becomes thick and begins to leave the sides of the pan.<\/li>\n\n<li>Blend the onion tomato mixture to a thick paste.<\/li>\n\n<li>Once again heat the onion tomato paste. Add green chili. Add ginger garlic paste. Saute for a min.<\/li>\n\n<li>Reduce the heat.<\/li>\n\n<li>Add red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder and sugar.<\/li>\n\n<li>Add water and cook until the masala paste turns thick.<\/li>\n\n<li>Add heavy cream and stir well.<\/li>\n\n<li>Once the paste turns thick add fried chicken pieces and stir.<\/li>\n\n<li>Then add kasuri methi and mix well.<\/li>\n\n<li>Cook until the chicken turns soft.<\/li>\n\n<li>Taste and add further salt, chili powder, garam masala powder if needed.<\/li>\n\n<li>Finally add the cream and garnish with coriander.<\/li><\/ul><p id=\"viewer-ujmzl74752\">Chicken tikka masala tastes best with Butter Naan, roti and varieties of rice.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Chicken Tikka Masala is one of the most popular Indian recipes.
